Sightings for March 2020

Tuesday 3rd March Stopped for a little while, as I made my way to work this morning, to watch this Barn Owl, having a successful hunt, near Shrewton Wiltshire.

Sunday 8th March, and a walk with the dogs at Westbury, seeing 18 species.

Monday 9th March, another stop off on my way to work, this time to see the WHITE STORK at Durrington, Wiltshire.

Sunday 15th March, and while at Rudge Somerset I had a RED KITE.

Thursday 19th March, at work and had a walk around Crete hall road and the Northfleet mill site Kent, where I noted the following: Feral pigeon, Woodpigeon, Collared dove, Wren, Robin, Blackbird, Chiffchaff, Long-tailed tit, Blue tit, Magpie, Jackdaw, Carrion crow, Starling, Greenfinch & Goldfinch.

Friday 27th March, and a lunchtime walk around Swanscombe marshes Kent, 35 species seen, but none for the year list.

Sightings for February 2020

Saturday 1st Feburary, and while walking the dogs added WOODCOCK

TOTAL FOR YEAR = 81 (Wiltshire year list = 36)

Wednesday 5th February, as working again in Northfleet this week, drove to Minster marshes after work and noted 27 species, adding WATER RAIL and SHORT-EARED OWL

Thursday 6th February, and a lunchtime visit to Kings Hill Farm Elmley marshes for the LONG-EARED OWL

Friday 7th February, and a walk around Westbury gave me CHIFFCHAFF & GOLDCREST at the water treatment works.

The end of another week working in Northfleet, so drove to RSPB reserve Cliffe pools for a lunchtime walk, seeing 50 species adding: PINTAIL, GOLDENEYE, SPOTTED REDSHANK & MEDITERRANEAN GULL.

Monday 17th February, on holiday, and went for a nice dog walk with my grandson George, and we saw 23 species which included LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL.

Wednesday 19th February, another day on holiday, and another dog walk with George, this time we saw 24 species adding GREAT SPOTTED WOODPECKER, REDWING, MISTLE THRUSH & YELLOWHAMMER.
