Wednesday 1st January, and I started the year listing with a dog walk around Westbury seeing: WOODPIGEON, ROBIN, BLACKBIRD, SONG THRUSH, BLUE TIT, GREAT TIT, NUTHATCH, JAY, MAGPIE, JACKDAW, ROOK, CARRION CROW, STARLING, HOUSE SPARROW

Thursday 2nd and back to work down in Northfleet Kent, so I had a lunchtime walk around Swanscombe marshes seeing:LITTLE GREBE, CORMORANT, GREY HERON, SHELDUCK, GADWALL, TEAL, SHOVELER, TUFTED DUCK, MARSH HARRIER, KESTREL, PHEASANT, COOT, LAPWING, CURLEW, REDSHANK, COMMON SANDPIPER, TURNSTONE, BLACK-HEADED GULL, COMMON GULL, GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL, FERAL PIGEON, MEADOW PIPIT, WREN, STONECHAT, FIELDFARE, CETTI’S WARBLER, RAVEN, CHAFFINCH, GOLDFINCH, LINNET
Saturday 4th and added the following while walking the dogs: SPARROWHAWK, BUZZARD, HERRING GULL, STOCK DOVE, COLLARED DOVE, DUNNOCK, GREENFINCH

Wednesday 8th and a short drive from Northfleet, for a quick walk around Alpha pool, Cliffle, Kent, where I saw 36 species and added: GREAT CRESTED GREBE, RED-NECKED GREBE, BLACK-NECKED GREBE, LITTLE EGRET, GREYLAG GOOSE, CANADA GOOSE, EGYPTIAN GOOSE, WIGEON, MALLARD, POCHARD, MOORHEN & AVOCET

Thursday 9th, and reports of a Richard's pipit on the sea wall at Egypt Bay near Cooling, Kent, had me in the car at lunch time, as this would be a new bird for me. I parked near the church in Cooling, and walked out to Egypt bay, where I had a pipit fly over and call once, I could not relocate it, dipped, so walked on to Northward hill and back to Cooling, about 7.5 miles and just over 2 hours, then back to Northfleet for work, just added: MUTE SWAN, RED-LEGGED PARTRIDGE, OYSTERCATCHER, REED BUNTING

Friday 17th, and another try for the Richard's pipit, this time I parked at Swigshole and walked out to Egypt bay, dipped again, but did add EUROPEAN WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE, DARK-BELLIED BRENT GOOSE, DUNLIN, SKYLARK, LONG-TAILED TIT

Monday 20th and the start of another week working in Northfleet, the Richard's pipit, still being reported, so another walk out to Egypt bay, this time I connected with the RICHARD’S PIPIT, and also managed to put Lee GR Evans on to the pipit, also added GOLDEN PLOVER, GREY PLOVER, BARN OWL.

Day off as holiday on Thursday 23rd and a nice walk around Westbury, seeing 24 species, and added: PIED WAGTAIL, BULLFINCH
Saturday 25th and in the horse paddocks at Rudge, Somerset was a GREEN WOODPECKER, TOTAL FOR YEAR = 80
