No Cranes & No Smew

Thusday 23rd and as I was working in Poole I tried for the Cranes at Briantspuddle,

and the Smew near the sewage works at Lytchett bay.

No Cranes & No Smew.

Blashford lakes (Ibsley water)

Wednesday 22nd and another earlier start and went straight to Tern hide on Ibsley water and found the Black-necked grebe also added Pintail & Goldeneye to year list.

Avon water meadows Part 2

Tuesday 21st and after dropping my car off for its service, on my way to Bournemouth, I went back to Sopley as I had sent out some e-mails the night before and found out where the Green-winged teal had been last seen. I went to cemetery and then started to look for the Green-winged teal, I got just passed the 40 mph speed sigh and found him.

Farlington marshes Hampshire

Monday 20th and back to Havant, so had a quick walk around Farlington marshes, having great views of Beared tit feeding in the reeds (Main lake) close to the path. On the way to Point field a Rock pipit feeding on the shore line and then the Short-eared owl that was flying around Point field.

Avon water meadows Part 1

Thrusday 16th I went to Avon water meadows and parked by the entrance Sopley cemetery to see if I could find the Green-winged teal :o(  but did have two Ruff.

Blashford lakes (Woodland hide)

Tuesday 14th morning I started off early so I could go to the Woodland hide to get a seat next to the feeder where Mealy redpoll(s) had been seen, saw them then of to work, good way to start the day. Also added for year list Collared dove, Greenfinch, Lesser redpoll.

Blashford lakes (Ivy Lake)

Monday 13th, and the start of a week working down in Bournemouth, so Monday lunchtime went to Ivy lake hide to see the Bittern, on the way back to car had both Song & Mistle thrush feeding on the short grass.
